We're still planting on the ridge!  Summer officially begins today and this week we took advantage of the beautiful weather and extra helping hands to plant another row of prairie smoke and our first row of lupine.  We're entering the dry portion of the summer and so we'll water these plants to help them get established this first summer.

These plants were grown in a greenhouse this winter and their roots will take quick advantage of the sunshine, warm temperatures, and native soils.  They'll grow a little above ground this summer but most of the action will be happening below ground preparing the plant to really take off next year.
Happy summer solstice!
