Currently, our winter work has us inside most of the day, but every now and then we'll poke our heads out and look around. The Palouse is beautiful during every season and these pictures with frost on the plants are proof. Winter on Paradise Ridge is often characterized by fog and grey, rainy days. We especially like it when it gets cold enough to snow. Last year we had snow cover most of the winter and our natives really seemed to enjoy the protection and moisture from the snow blanket. We haven't had any snow to speak of yet this year but I for one have my fingers crossed. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! ![]() Ice crystals on nine leaf lomatium (Lomatium triternatum) ![]() Frozen Ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa) needles |
