Wildlife encounters are common up on Paradise Ridge and so it was no surprise when I had company the other day while attending to our potted natives.  The hot dry days can stress potted plants so we keep ours under shade cloth and make sure to water them regularly in order to keep them healthy for fall planting.

While organizing these plants I noticed a rustling and soon saw a little weasel scurrying around the pots.  He seemed curious of me and only left the area once I began to water the pots.

A little later I found a vibrant green frog that I was told is most likely a Pacific tree frog.  We've noticed lots of other frogs under the shade cloth as well and can only imagine that they enjoy this cool oasis that we've created for them.
