Brenda Guettler has been with us since March 2007. Brenda received her bachelors in Environmental Studies from the University of Kansas and her MS in Rangeland Ecology from the University of Idaho. Her thesis research was on the effects of fire on the snowberry-rose native plant community in the canyon grasslands. Brenda is our right ( and left) hand person for everything from prairie restoration, weed management, seed sowing, wild-collecting, field harvesting, seed cleaning, web development, native plant presentations, tractor driving, and the list goes on. Like any farmer, she is involved in the entire production process, including land stewardship. Her work in the nursery industry and the UI Stillinger Herbarium, her education, her can-do attitude and her ability to work and laugh with the “summer help” makes her an invaluable employee.

The “Summer Help”

Our sons, Guy and Carl, work with us on the farm when not in college, as well as supply us with the “summer help” – college and high school friends and their siblings.
We are also fortunate to work with Genesee Elementary and High School teachers who enjoy working in the outdoors after being in a classroom most of the year.

Lorne Wilson
Lorne Wilson has worked with us on the farm since 1994.
He is the chief mechanic, no-till drill operator and everything else in the life of a farmer.
